Expeditions for Duke of Edinburgh’s Awards

In the last few years, teams have gone away on expedition in order to specifically carry out a trekking phase to count towards their Gold Duke of Edinburgh’s Award (Other Adventurous Project). The most popular areas to carry these out have included:

Morocco – taking a 5-day trek up Mount Toubkal
Canada – spending 6 to 9 days canoeing around Temgami area north of Toronto
French Alps – taking 5 days to walk parts of the Haute Route near Chamonix

Expeditions

UK Programmes

We believe that small is beautiful and run a maximum of twenty school's expeditions per year providing quality experiential learning in remote overseas environments. Students lead the expedition themselves, with the guidance of fully qualified leaders.

UK Programmes is non-profit making and concentrates solely on the personal development of young adults (in full-time education and those excluded from main-stream education) within the UK.

All of these programmes offer a rich choice of opportunity and are run either on site or at outdoor centres, and some are run at camps in Europe. Programmes on offer include support for Duke of Edinburgh's Award, Key Skills, Wider Key Skills, Team-working and Leadership, Communication, Prefect Training and Activity Residentials.
