Our Safeguarding Commitment

Wilderness Expertise has a duty of care to safeguard all children involved in our programmes from all forms of harm.

Wilderness Expertise are the most committed and forward thinking outdoors provider in the UK when it comes to safeguarding young people on our events.

We take safeguarding seriously enough to host an annual safeguarding update for all our team, and this year, we have started to offer a Level 1 Safeguarding qualification, for free, to our entire team

We require our Trainers to undertake a safeguarding qualification every 3 years (which is above the industry standard)

We have a trained in-house Designated Safeguarding Lead on our permanent staff team, responsible for reviewing our safeguarding policies, and safeguarding queries

We work with mental health trained freelancers that we match for events where there are known vulnerabilities
